why does it make a difference?
and why does it need to be saveAs to obtain the same color values in flash?

Compressions occurs when you Save for Web (as it's making the file size much smaller), which means that there could be a loss of colour, depending on what setup and format you go with.

you might have embed icc profile off/on in save as or save for web and you're seeing color differences because of that.

could be a loss of colour, depending on what setup and format you go with...well, i need to port a photography of a building with an overlayed red bar in ff0033. I only get the ff0033 through using saveAs.

save to web PNG-24 is probably not lossless?

save to web anything = beachball of death (for about 2-3 minutes)

i feel like anytime i do saveForWeb the output is always washed out and lighter than the original. however, if i save as it stays correct. so i just save as.

you should convert to sRGB before save to web and the color will be preserved in browsers
