I went into an apple store today to have a play with some of the Mac Pros because I am thinking about upgrading to an Intel machine, and what do I find, that right, all of the Pro Hardware has been taken out of the store to make way for bloody Ipods, and Iphones. And this got me thinking, are Apple more interested in the general Consumer, and if so, how will this effect the Pro customers.

it's all a preparation for x-mas where parents' everywhere feel the need to buy their kids the latest and greatest ipod that's 6 months newer than the old one. and where do the old ones go? the trash.

Sad really. Then I again I should not be that surprised, all I got to see when I went into the store where kids, and families looking for ipods. and the bloody phones.

Apple retail store is just that, a retail store for regular ol' retail customers. It's the holidays and the big sellers this time of year are retail-oriented iPods, macbooks, and accessories.
I agree w/ Andrew_D — go to an authorised reseller that specialises in professional equipment. They'll be better able to help you with other purchases as well.

what do you think you are going to do in an Apple Store that would demonstrate the power of the Pro? Are you hooking up your HD and starting up AE to work on your 2 hour video?
really? if you dont know you need a pro before you get there, you arent going to come to that conclusion after you've been there for 20 minutes- +1000Samush

Pro buyers are probally 10% maybe of all apple consumers.
