I'm trying to put together my printed portfolio for interviews but I'm not sure what is the best way to show all my web work? should it just be a screen print or a photograph of a monitor with the site showing.

    what do you guys think??

Any ideas would be great as it looking like I will be out of work next week

    Cheers m00

I always just take a screenshot (without browser window) that always works best for me.

    • Then have details about the project and URL(s) next to it.OhYeah1/3
how many screen shots do you tend to do for each site???Moo2/3
yeah was thinking that alot of my web design work is based on the packaging design so was going to ask the other designer for a 3d box from them to show how the site matches the other designs and just credit them in my folioMoo3/3

Well showcase your best work, the more variety the better. Don't show tons of site just say maybe 10-12 sites or less. Just to give your future employer for of an idea of what you are able to do.

I like when the browser is shown, but really dislike it when people show the entire Apple monitor. As if the computer is of your own creation.

Love how Area 17 does it, full size: http://www.area17.com/03_work/ao…

    • And the browser is?
      Whither the difference?

Web is the best way to show all your web work.

If you are going for a job in web then the people interviewing are going to be wanting to play with and explore the sites youve built so they can judge you on how well your sites are navigated etc.

For a printed folio though - if a project was just the site then show a number of pages from the site.
Print out with browsers/monitors if you want. doesnt add much tho.

If the web design was part of a larger print/campaign project then show 1 or 2 screenshots of the site alongside the other work for that client. If the visuals are part of a larger (print maybe) project then theres more reason for pshopping your screenshot onto a monitor - as it makes it obvious its a web visual

    • cheers 23kon was thinking that as some of my site are designed around the packaging that has already been created by the print team and they are happy for me to have a 3d box in my folio along side the site to show how they link etc as long as I reference them. Plus im doing all the print designs sites in order to help them outMoo
