The tune sounds like it should be on an Apple advert.

So I guess that's a bit of a compliment for them finding a good tune that works well with the concept and has that 'sound'.

Pretty crudely shot and cut and cheap looking though.
Doesnt give an essence of the brand quality that John Lewis is.

    • considering no one has any money at the moment it kinda worksBluejam

i suppose you are right bluejam
maybe it wouldve been too much if it had more budget or wow factor.

i just thought it didnt have much warmth to it - the background colour is cold. compared to the lovely warm and christmassy marks + spencers adverts - i know which makes me think "mmmm christmasssss"

my friend was one of the people for that, they dyed her hair purple and made her quite gothy, her present was a purple bag, they didn't put her the final advert though which is how she would of got the big money from royalties for this type of thing, around 6 grand she thought she lost out on

I'm fairly positive I've seen a version with a girl with purple hair who get a bag to match. I'm trying to find it on Youtube.

You get royalties every time an ad appears if you're in it. When I was at college, a girl in the year below me (Illustrator Nila Aye) was cast as an airline hostess in a British Airways ad. All she had to do was swirl round and smile. That was it. She was in the ad for maybe 0.7 of a second. They kept hammering that advert for years though and she made a fucking fortune from it by all accounts.
