"Well the French have taken their love of video games to the next level. So strong was the response to the virtual racer dubbed “GTbyCITROËN” in the hit Playstation 3 game Gran Turismo 5, that one of France’s oldest auto manufacturers decided to explore the future of design and make the jump to reality."

I wish there was some explanation of what the features of this car's shape are. is any of it functional or is it just made to be pretty and useless.
I thought concept cars quite often featured the first iterations of technology which later makes its way into production models a few years down the line?

the big scoops at the front are for cooling the front brakes
the ledges on the sills force the air through the vents to the back wheels to cool the brakes then exit out the hole at the back
it reminds me of catamaran boats
definitely looks like they are trying to channel airflow through the car as well as over it - probably to push the car onto the road more
