@SuperSport:
"get in the van" is a fantastic bookI fucking love that book. WHenever life gets to me too much I pull that out and realize how much you can actually do in this life with a few good friends and just insane fundamental passion and zeal for whatever you are doing. Amazing how little you really need in this life and how much fat and fluff we put around us for bullshit ego-stroking reasons. DIY for fucking sure...

Don't get me wrong, BF with Henry was awesome too.
Had a chance to see a Black Flag reunion thing in Denver a few years ago.
The show was a benefit for the West Memphis Three. I was too young to see any black flag shows, so it was a real treat to see Keith open with Black Flag, and after he was done, Henry came out and did a set too. Awesome.

@TheBlueOne - yeah I do the same. There's a part about how Mugger teaches Henry how to fill the whole cafeteria trray with salad for like a buck so they don't starve cause they spent all their money on xeroxing show flyers. Brilliant. I try to live up to what those guys did with so little. Inspirational for sure.

Exactly. Sometime I think about all the stuff we surround ourselves with just to "create" and wonder how much of it really is a crutch. Seriously, I realize how little we actually do with the technology at our disposal versus what people did in the past with far, far less. I mean, a guitar is just wire and wood...a website is just fucking pixels and anything graphic is just ink and paper...I am a firm believer in putting limitations on things sometimes just so you can get creative within the boundaries....and I got alot of that from Black Flag and Rollins...

yeah I hear you. I took apart my SuperSport(old Vespa) last weekend to replace the kickstart gear. And while it was made in 1965 .....there was of course no computers to draw out the insides of that engine and it's done beautifully. Art I'd say. Again to apply to design, do more with less. Cheers.

I rode an elevator up with Henry in a Cleveland Holiday Inn after Rollins Band opened up for Janes Addiction in a medium sized theater. I was about 18 and tried to act cool and just gave him the head nod. I was actually scared to say a word but when we got to his floor I said "cool show" he said thanks. That's it. End of story.
