Woke up this morning to find my bedroom wall soaked through with water, black splotchy mold behind my favorite and completely irreplaceable John Coltrane lithograph and over the wall and plaster falling on top of my laptop.

I'm about to go batshit on my corporate landlords. When we moved in there was pre-existing water damage they said they'd repair - all they did was paint over it. This sucks. I'm not going to live in a mold infested apartment...

Well when we looked at the apartment in April there was small water damage on the ceiling they said would be fixed. When we moved in June they had patched and painted over it. In July they called us to say they needed to get into the apartment to fix a leak above. Turned out they could do all the plumbing repair work upstairs. So I had a small spot on the ceiling of water damage which they said to let the plaster dry out and they'd schedule the repair work - which was reasonable to me. They kept pushing it off, and now it looks like the leak got worse and now the mold....
Have to pick up some bleach and some masks on the way home tonite...

Check insurance, definitely.
Also, bleach will not fix the mold. It'll kill what's on the surface, but you'll need to entirely replace the drywall. Possibly, remove any insulation behind it, and dry out/treat the studs behind the wall.
If your landlord is not willing to do this, consider calling you local department of health or engineering. Mold like that is very bad news. In my case, I essentially had pneumonia for 3 months due to exposure to that crap in an apartment I lived in.
