  so you found the sugar bookstore... Barnes & Noble at Union Square... Then Strand which is down the street on Broadway. Printed Matter is smaller but has indie stuff.

  this japanese book store has a pretty good art/design book collection up stairs.
  don't buy it from there though. i just go to check books and magazines out and then order online to save money.
