Have worked every weekend for two months straight. Worked 8:45 AM till 3 AM the other day. Am on the verge of total burnout. Have developed an annoying twitch in my left eye from lack of sleep. Our first baby is coming very soon and I will be extra pissed if I can barely pull myself away from work to spend time with him.
So glad the weekend is upon us. Thanks for listening,

aw gramme, you sound really tired and with a little one on the way, that's only the beginning! if you can try to get some work out of the way before he arrives you'll be so, so grateful. those first few weeks are so intense and important, and his mommy will need as much support as you can manage.
sending you a revitalizing hug!

Yes, I think once the little one comes...if work actually gets in the way of your family that it's time to move on. I can tell you from experience that kids grow far too fast (especially the first few years) and you don't want to miss that. I have a second little one coming soon and am prepared to get no sleep for awhile. You may get lucky, but like sputnik said "it's only the beginning" be prepared to not get any sleep for at least the first 6 months.
Anyway congrats! And at the very least....stop taking freelance work! :)

damn, working yourself into the ground and not even getting paid for it?! just stop. step back. and tell yourself now is when you really need to rest up. once the little one is there, you will get even less sleep! (not knowing from experience, but the experience of my brother, his wife, and their little (and another on the way).
just say no!

hey man, try to relax as much as possible during your downtime, also perhaps you could think about asking or a hand?.... maybe getting someone in to lighter the load a little can't hurt to ask. Good luck and good wishes for the new arrival :D, chin up man.

Heh. Yeah.
I did some identity work for a buddy of mine – that Flock stuff I posted couple weeks back. That was maybe $5–7k worth of work for zero dollars. At least it goes in the folio...but my wife told me she will remain understanding unless I spend one more Saturday doling out free blood, sweat and tears.
