In Mount Vernon, close to John's Hopkins, is the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to. It's called the Ambassador Dining Room. It's in the ground floor of a posh apartment building. Excellent food, fair prices for fine-dining quality, beautifully tranquil garden out back. They have a covered patio where you can eat and listen to the birds chirping in the water fountain.

If you like authentic Irish pubs, head over to J. Patrick's in Locust Point. It's a little green door that you'd miss other wise. It's permanently under construction. Old Jay himself still bartends at an age no lower than 70. The guy never forgets a name. Freshest pint of Guinness in town.

american visionary art museum of is undoubtedly one of the best in the world, right next to federal hill if you are in that area:
http://www.avam.org/if you want sneakers you have to go to the locker room:
http://www.dtlr.com/lunch at faidley's at the lexington market on saturday. dinner at rocket to venus in hampden. keep an eye out for john waters at a booth.
nightlife is federal hill, canton, or fells point. or you can go to the arts district, station north, if you have a music blog and wear tight jeans. not my scene though.
you will be very hard pressed to find ravens tix.

Barefoot in Baltimore
Heel and toe with youSummer turns the stove on
And fun begins to cook
Barefoot walks in Baltimore
With empty pocketbookLaugh at sizzling sidewalks
Don't step on the cracks
Old folks try to catch their breath
As children catch their jacksBarefoot in Baltimore
Heel and toe with youBaltimore is music
Dancing in the street
Half-chewed Dubble Bubble
Tugging at our feetMelted tar in crosswalks
Crab shells in the park
Pavement frying our poor toes
Until long after darkWhen night comes we can go walking
On the shores of Chesapeake Bay
A silence tailored for talking
And a love with so much to say
