Iphone Rate Plan Deception 2525 Responses

Here's a good one for you:
I just reviewed my first iphone 3g bill summary just to see what the charges were even though the bill isn't due until September 25th.
While I'm sure I read this on the web that the iphone monthly cost includes a $30 data plan or whatever you want to call it, the employee that sold me the phone and got me signed up in the Chicago Apple store NEVER ONCE EXPLAINED THAT. In fact, I feel 99.9% sure that the product documentation on the tables at the store do not include that.
The employee flat out told me that the $39.99 rate plan included unlimited Internet usage. I would swear on a bible to it. Never once mentioned the $30 added to the $39.99 for Internet usage.
Has anyone else experienced this? I've been on the phone with AT&T for over 30 minutes trying to figure out why my first bill was so high, and they mentioned that - news to me.
I am completely planning to go to the Apple store after work to look at the documentation signs on the iphone tables there that the use for rate and service plans. I can't believe they hid this fact from me or anyone else.

The employees at cell phone stores are pretty uneducated, its a minimum wage gig. As for the data plan charge, its pretty well documented. It was actually a pretty big deal that the data plan was going up $10. Not to belittle the bad experience you had but I'm pretty sure you'll see the 'fine print' pretty quickly.

i dont see a $39.99 a month plan. i dont want to be mean here, but its been pretty much public knowledge since the original iphone that ALL iphone plans include a data plan.

Sucks dude, Im quickly learning that wireless communication is a scam.
Some schmuck at rogers pushed a 2nd iphone order through on my account with the completely wrong details and ported over our home phone number to this iphone I never ordered. now we have no land line for 2 weeks while its gets sorted out.
I've had my iphone for 2 days and I've spend probably 5 hours on the phone with them because their employees never elaborate on anything. I have to now write down all of my questions as they come up and write down the employees answer.
FUCK

Its like ordering a meal in a highend restaurant where you pick and choose your services and pay individually for each one. But the catch is your not ordering from a menu, just some willynilly off the top of my head thought like "oh what about voicemail".
Their employees should break it down.
Im scared to get my first bill.

So the contact and Iphone on the lowest monthly contract of £70 a month is going to cost you over 1K a year. hahahahahaha, that a fucking joke. I would prefer to go on holiday for 2 weeks and have a crap phone.

and look dude. they dont have to explain anything to you. it's all in the fine print. It's your job to read the contract or disclaimers before you make any purchase or agreement for a particular service. Now if their advertising in store is wrong; then you have a case.

This is my first actual phone usage bill with AT&T and it came out to $172.03.
But at least I knew about the $30 Data Plan that all iPhone contracts. I felt it was pretty self explanatory in that they tried to purposely separate the fact by not putting the data plan by the rate but defining it well in another section of that grid thing.
