I learned about the pyramids one in college.
It is not part of this website above, but I also saw a picture from early 1900's China, that for political reasons a person was completely removed from a photograph even though the background was very detailed. The photographers used brushes and it had to be done directly into the film... they used copies of the film pretty much how we use cloning tool...

"The photos were doctored to make the journalist appear less attractive. A FOX spokeswoman said the executive in charge of “Fox and Friends” is on vacation and not available for comment but added that altering photos for humorous effect is a common practice on cable news stations."
