I am just wondering how many designers here run there own e-commerce site. I just launched one with my wife. I work in e-commerce so I actually design the software that runs it. My conversions were not what I had hoped but after making more adjustments to my paid search accounts they are getting better. If anyone wants to discuss online sales, wants to share adwords tips or has comments on the site please let me know.
The site offers all natural and organic soap and body care products:

Got any recommendations for good off-the-shelf/open source ecommerce solutions?
Magento looks about as good as it gets:

Looking for similar standards...

Magento looks good from what I've seen but had usability issues in some areas. It was slick though overall. I found Zen Cart (an offshoot of OSCommerce) to be extremely cumbersome even with PHP experience.
The software I work on is a fully hosted solution.

Yep... working on this one with my wife
http://www.industrialjoe.comShe sells gourmet coffee and french presses.
Been building it on the Magento platform and yes you have to dig through quite a bit. Once you start getting the structure down and the way they've put it together it get's easier. I'm building 3 other clients sites on it now.
Would love to discuss conversion rates and how to's and tips with anyone interested in helping each other out...
