Picking up my new fixed gear bike tonight! Loads of white, black and chrome, fat white rims, proper amazing. So fucking excited, it's silly.

Somebody please explain to me why we now have to have bikes with one gear like the old BMX's we had when we were kids..
...is it conformist to have gears and brakes now? Or am just getting old...
