My sister is presenting a portfolio on an interview today and she has no idea how to use flash, I was thinking of those plug ins that will convert pages into a clickable magazine that she can put on a CD (hopefully) as she doesn't have a website yet.
is there something like this around?
hopefully free or pretty cheap.thanks in advance!

Ok, maybe the page flip is not the best idea..
This is her first job, and she is still in school so it can't get too complex or expensive. She was asked to deliver her portfolio on a cd rom.
I thought the page flip could be nicer than having a PDF.thoughts?

and flashpageflip is too expensive for a possible job? it's US$50?
http://www.flashpageflip.com/Bas…if that's too expensive you could always use a gallery from flashden.net or the always useful: http://slideshowpro.net/

think about it.
if i'm an employer and i see fancy shit flash effects on someone's portfolio - i will take take that as a sign that this is part of their skill set.
if it's not part of their skillset i'm going to start wondering why they are trying to wow me with the page turning..
(is the work shit?? are they trying to divert my attention? is there not enough work? do they think im that simple minded that ill clap and blow spit baloons at the sight of a flash page turn??)
i would honsetly say - if you cant do it yourself/herself - dont use it on your folio.
solid designed pdf + solid work + good person = job
fancy flash thing + ???? + ???? != profit

Airey and Elpaso are spot on.
Last time i was hiring the points for presentation went so;[+] Nicely laid out PDF or website
[+] Size (or detailed view) of work[-] Just images on a disc
[-] Flashy gimmicks that lend nothing to the workAnd for the love of small fluffy animals please don't do your Resume in Word. If it's from an agency then i expect some rehash. However if it is coming directly from you i expect the same care and attention to layout as your folio.

elpaso, i hahaha'd a lot at this comment. haha.
"ill clap and blow spit baloons"
and he couldn't be more correct. portfolios represent you, not what effects or book you bought offline. not to mention, the portfolio is a DESIGN problem! one that needs a solution, and her solution.
can't dance around that.
