The GOP/RNC is speculating that McCain might select Jeb Bush as his VP candidate.

      I don't care; I still like him. I think he'd be a wise choice too.dog_opus3/4
Actually he DID do a pretty good job considering Gore won, but nobody wants a turn coat, even if he turns your direction.NONEIS4/4

    Jeb Bush!?!

You'd think they would want to distance themselves from the Bush name.

    • Yeah...I don't see that happening...TheBlueOne

Does the VP really matter in the US? I know he becomes president if something happens to the current prez but I can't think of that happening since Johnson? Why not have him come to power but have it as a law that there be an election 2 months later if that were to happen.

it does if your cheney. That old public war dog.epete222/2

I suspect it will be Romney. The other choices wlll simply not be able to stand up to Biden in the debate.

    • You think Romney can?NONEIS

both actually have business sense and embrace the free markets. that's my reasoning.

    • No bid contracts to haliburton is certainly excellent embracing of free markets.TheBlueOne

A Cheney is just snark fromboth sides. Romney will just drive that much of a bigger wedge between McCain and the religious right. Might shore up McCain's economic foibles. I think Biden would pwn Romney in a debate though.

Another darkhorse pick for McCain is Tennessee congress critter Marsha Blackburn. Uber-conservative to shore up McCain's doubters on that side and the pick of a woman could upset/challenge Obama's change message...

    • Colin Powell would also be a realdark horse, but doubt Powellwould be interested.TheBlueOne1/2
Powell is damaged goods. He lost ALL credibility after he spoke before the UN saying he had proof of WMD in Iraqnearestexit2/2
