Seems like I am finally getting my upgrade to CS3 (on a Quad-Core Intel Xeon Mac) today, and I plan to install on the run, as I am too busy to take my time, and too desperate to rid myself of CS2 crashiness.

Does anyone have any advice to make this transition quick and smooth?

    Thanks in advance.

Clean install OS X again to be safe, then install CS 3. Repair permissions, then reset the PRAM. Then reboot into safe mode.

    • Just kidding. It should be fine.ismith

OK. It finally arrived, after them sending me Windows installer discs (this ALWAYS happens to me). I have installed it and it all seems to be running sweetly. Good times.

yep. install, install the upgrades (both adobe and OSX) and then make sure your copy of suitcase is the latest. also, if sid bought office 2008 there's a 200mb download that will make it not screw your setup.

apart from that, it's not 2001 anymore so the updates don't do much.

    • Still on Office 2004, but I don’t have to use it too much, tfft.MrOneHundred

drop your ram usage in photoshop to about 45-50%. the default is too high and might cause some crashes.
