sure. Mine is more random notes and scribbles than actual concept sketches though

I use my sketchbook everyday to explore logo concepts and write notes about business ideas. Also to sketch out my perfect house, t-shirt ideas, handbag designs, furniture designs, etc. I think pencil and paper keep my ideas fresh and makes me use a different part of my brain that I would if I were designing on a computer.

my sketch book is my idea book for the most part but If im not applying for illustrator jobs, which i wont then i guess i wouldn't brin show it. Unless you want to see a "worm racing down the street with a guys head and a big foam number one finger"
So what would you make of these design jobs that want to see sketch books? do you think they are just looking for someone who can design and illustrate?

Drawing is about facture, or the sensible portion of an idea that becomes a fact by use of pen or medium. You need to think about this to make an interesting drawing - so that the idea needs not words, but with the full power of visualisation. If the full idea and understanding underlying a drawing doesn't come automatically then the drawing has failed, because good drawings need not words to be understood.
