Cinema4d from Maxon. Short learning curve, quick easy results.

I'm getting started with Cinema 4D and I feel like I get it so far after a couple of months.
The best way to start is with the Quickstart PDF that comes with the program. (even the demo).

I've been learning bits of c4d on and off as and when the need arises, and I really like it - the animation keyframing is easy, and I've just got into Clothilde so Ive been burning my processor out all night rendering little sequences of reflective cloth bouncing around.
The MoGraph stuff is fun and can get a bit wild.
Obviously the better a machine you have, the more fun you'll have with more detailed renders...mine's like molasses sometimes : /

MAYA!!!
no maya love here? I love it. I thought blender's interface was too strange.

Just to add 3dsmax is nothing like Maya. I think Maya's learning curve is steeper. Max also have alot of neat plugin's. I recently picked up Cinema 4d and while I find it somewhat easy to pick up, there are aspects that i find annoying as some things can be done easier in Max, but I assume it's like that with any program...
I would go with Max first, but that's just preference. Cinema is good too. And just to confuse you some more, Softimage XSI.

threads like this pop up every month or so and my standard reply goes something like this:
I like and use cinema4d because of it's integration with after effects. alot of what other packages offer is overkill for me and the learning curve was IMHO lower with C4d. at the end of the day tho, you should decide for yourself. every 3D package has a demo or learning edition. get them and try each one out to see what suits you best.
