That used to be possible with ResEdit – but that was pre OS X. Not sure if there is an equivalent, but I’d be surprised if there isn’t.

Don’t be so hard on TaylorB, _salisae_, he’s a stand-up guy. I am sure, if you read all the related posts since the wedding invite debacle, you would see that TaylorB and Spooky should be able to happily co-exist here on QBN.

I'm used to Windows keyboard layout (use it all day at work too) and I need alt to be right next to the space bar, it gets me Polish characters.
I also need a slightly different layout when using the external keyboard.
I've been remapping with DoubleCommand, but I don't think it treats Command keys separately other than remapping small enter to something else - perfect for me, but you want the opposite :)I read KeyRemap4MacBook did though, but never tried it.
