Font Weights + Flash 55 Responses

  I still have never gotten a real answer to this question in the last 10 years so I'm asking again on as many forums as possible.

  Why is it that with most OT format fonts, I have 100 weights show up in Illustrator and Photoshop but I only get a very small fraction of them to show up in Flash. It's killing me that we can't get this to work in Flash on our latest project. We really need some of the weights we mocked with and it's just not happening at the moment.

  Does anyone know why this is and does anyone have a solution other than creating font outlined vectors and importing the text as art. We need this to work dynamically for news etc.

  flash seems to look at your fonts folder and if you have, say, avant garde in both the medium and bold weights it displays the medium in the list and uses the bold when you click the "bolden this" button

  noticed this recently, quite daft.

  Flash blows chunks.... come on Adobe.. if it's there in your other products it should be there in Flash.
