alright, wtf! my email has been hacked. It is a mediatemple server. Somehow some spammer fuck got access to my email. They send out thousands of spam messages from my email. I get hundreds of "mailer daemon" returns a day. I change my password and it keeps them out for like 2 days, and then they are back in. What the fuck could be the problem?

Hi there and welcome to the internet and the wonderful world of IT.
In all likelihood they have not, of course, hacked into your MediaTemple email account and sent thousand of messages from your POP service - rather, your email address has been appropriated and used in the sender/reply-to field of a mass mailout, so that now you're getting lots of bounce backs.
Don't stress it - happens all the time - my email's received a few this week too, and I'm with MT.
Enjoy your stay and don't forget to utilise the minibar.

It's got nothing to do with MT or any host - somehow they've managed to get your email address (not from your site though - looks like you've already protected that from harvesting) and they've entered it into their DB, to automatically add in as the sender or whatever, and they're sending all these addresses from some other place.
This lot will die down as all the recipients either reject you (with the bouncebacks you're getting now), add you to their spam list or just delete 'your' mails - tomorrow they'll use some other address, the day after - someone else's. This'll carry on ad nauseum until either a) we get the whole system fixed (God knows how) or b) the markets for Viagra, Cialis, auto insurance and Russian wives bottoms out.

damn! this just happened to me too, sending spam to all of my contacts, even people i haven't spoken to in years. ex-girlfriends are like "what the hell is he contacting me for." To boot, my new business cards are now crap because of the old email address.
Bummer. I just got a new account.

Your address isnt ruined... We have this happen too every so often on our main website contact addresess (like support@..), you just wait for it to die down. You can always use throw-away addresses for signing up to lists n stuff, either setup your own on your own webhosting account, or Hotmail, or .Mac lets you setup multiple aliases and recycle them...
