    Hiya,
I'm going to Wyoming on a long road trip from Minnesota and am fishing for ideas of things to see. I plan to get to Red Lodge, Mt and start from there. My itinerary, for photographing and inspiration, includes: the Medicine Wheel in northern Wyoming for a sunset, Beartooth Highway, Yellowstone Falls, the "alien pools" and vents.

Returning to MN: Devil's Tower for sunrise or sunset, Spearfish Canyon, Bear Butte, the Needles in the Black Hills and the Badlands.

I don't know much about the Tetons, Jackson Hole, nor much about Yellowstone. I know there may be snow, but what else should I be seeing when I am out there?

    Thanks!

i would make going to montana a priority, especially in the summer, you can visit glacier national park. it's stunning!

    • i'd like some of my ashes left to the winds there...jaylarson1/5
i would make for glacier, then continue to banff and then over to vancouver and seattle._salisae_2/5

yes, i need to get back to glacier. i was only there for a couple of days. next time i want to get closer to chief mountain in the north east. that area is still the most breath-taking place i've been yet.

Don't forget a trip to wall drug!
    http://www.walldrug.com/

If you drive through South Dakota, you will start seeing signs for Wall Drug about 700 miles outside of the small town Wall, SD. There is no chance in missing it.

In yellowstone, if you are into wildlife photography, make sure to get a zoom lens with 1.5x converter. I have seen grizzles, black bear, moose, buffalo, fox, coyote, deer, etc in that park. Ah, it is so amazing.

Be careful around the buffalo, as it seems like you can get close. Always, always store your food in a secure place if you are camping. The bears are quite wild.

Devils tower is amazing, and make sure to see Mt. Rushmore.

    • haha wall drug! biggest letdown of my childhood. not really, but i remember seeing ...lvl_131/4
signs FOREVER, and when we got there it was just a bunch of junky tourist shit. FREE ICE WATER! though :Dlvl_132/4

what time of year are you going? nowish? this is sorta weird time to visit, cause most of the winter stuff is just completing, but its not warm enough for anything summer.
I lived in Jackson for a summer and worked as a river and climbing guide. It's an amazing place, and if you gave me more of what you were interested in doing, I could hopefully point you in the right direction.
