Has anyone developed any Adobe Air applications? Specifically integrating ecommerce with flash, flex and ajax?

someone i'm working with wants to develop an adobe air desktop application with ecommerce... not sure if you saw the anthropologie demo, but something like that. just afraid that i'll run into roadblocks with technology that is so new, and miscalculate the projected deadline to finish this thing... i just want to see if anyone has actually launched a working version of an Air desktop ecomm app.

Haven't worked with it - but plan to verrry verrry soon. Looks like a killer! Interested to see what you come up with.

Since it runs in the flash player you should be all set for deployment on the web since flash player saturation is 98%. As for AIR users have to install the AIR framework on their computer before they can use the product which to me is a minor issue since I like the AIR apps I've downloaded. I think with the amount Adobe has invested in the tech and the clout they have in this arena its a safe bet that this will be pretty solid for the future.

For those who don't subscribe to the newsletter - http://allurent.com/page.php?id=…
Application distribution, security and code signing ( https://www.thawte.com/ssl-digit… ).
Build it like any other flash/flex/ajax app and wrap it up with a nice AIR application descriptor. Done :) ha If it were me, I'd estimate the cost for building the app as an online-only implementation - then add 50%. Always factor in pain and suffering.

very easy to work with, haven't done much ecommerce with it, but a few financial apps have been deployed within my company =)
