"We are running out of time to save this planet and the Discovery Channel is a big part of the problem, not the solution. Instead of showing successful solutions, their broadcast programs seem to be doing the opposite. Shows like “Cash Cab” and “Dirty Jobs” serve as diversions to keep the focus off what is really important, which is Global Warming and Animal Extinction."

its a stupid game show where you get in a cab and answer questions to win money. i think if you lose they let you out and pick up a new passenger

    • And this is hurting the planet how?TheBlueOne1/4
i think the original rules stated that the loser had to dump toxic waste chemicals in the nearest sewer7342/4
its possible i made that up7343/4
And kill an animal on the endangered species list. That was picked by a spinning wheel.jasontroj4/4

No THIS is the stupidest protest ever and it's a big distraction from all the problems in this world too...nobody's protesting like the government or Haliburton anymore and 911 truth articles arn't getting thousands of diggs for some reason. But yeah Discovery Channel is just TV but it makes up a huge part of the public's mind on what's happening in this world and there's no way they cover the real evironmental issues to the extent that they should. Just good old cuty animals and sharks etc

    • 9/11 truth articles? Oh wait, you are from the west coast. Nevermind.jasontroj1/9
i'm about as east as it getsmolo2/9
reason 911 articles arn't on the front page everyday with 3000 diggs is cuz this BS is, way more toomolo3/9
Oh ok. Yeah. Something like that. Go see Lee at the protest.jasontroj4/9
frankly i agree with him but i wouldn't say i'm the type to go protest...i have my own subversive tacticsmolo5/9
      Right on maaaaannnnnnnn.jasontroj6/9
      ya but i'm a chickmolo7/9
      pics?TheBlueOne8/9
      ok i'm not a chick...chicks don't refer to themselves as chicksmolo9/9

Hate to be redundant since there is another thread with the same stuff.

Discovery owns Treehugger and is going to be launching a 'Green' channel dedicated to sustainable design and the environment.

    Suck it Trebeck.

    • suck it long and suck it hard7341/3
No!! USe the other thread. This one was a horrible mistake..TheBlueOne2/3
i feel this one is superior because i have chosen to attach my name to it7343/3

If there should be any protests about television, it should be that ESPN broadcasts "hobbies" and calls them sports.

    • and "reality tv" is not real...damnit!molo1/2

Lee lives near where I live, I used to see him all the time in Silver Spring. He's paying homeless people and children to hold signs for him, believe it or not!
