I wish I could. That whole "client vs what's right" thing happens right at the start of the process for me, so by the time I've finished doing what the client wants and I go back to the one I preferred, the one I preferred looks too primitive to invest so much time to get it the same finish.
I spend my life vowing to to do a better alternative version of the finished thing to send to my client so they can see I was right and they were wrong, but then more work comes in, and it goes in the big folder marked "To be done properly one day when i get the chance"
