Going there for a week at the end of March. Just me and the wife. We'll be staying on the West Coast, in Tamarindo. I haven't surfed in 2.5 years, I can't wait.
Anyone been? Tips on places to go, things to do besides surfing? For Madirish or anyone else who knows: my gym doesn't have a pool, but I've been hitting it hard trying to target my back and shoulder muscles as much as possible. Low weight, high rep. Any tips on other things or specific exercises that will get me back in surfing shape?

mad, you ever been? I hear most of the good spots in that area are super fun and consistent, although they aren't known for heaviness...which is a good thing considering my rustiness and humble EC roots, in spite of all the years I logged in the water.

See, regular surfing is not so realistic for me here in St. Louis.
We should definitely meet up. We'll be on the beach in Tamarindo. There's a good beachbreak in front of the hotel. I'm planning on taking the boat to Ollie's and Witch's Rock.
Our travel agent surfs, he said he'd give me a few tips on out-of-the-way spots to check (we'll see about that...)

They take care of you and booking is easy with them. They'll even come pick you up from the airport....

we've already booked a pretty sweet deal at a 4-star hotel in Tamarindo. I think I'll take my chances with the boat taxis, as I understand it the charters are hella expensive.
wendog, we're doing the zipline tour through the rainforest – should be dope.
