I have been doing some research on working in Sweden but haven't been able to find much information on salaries.
What does a general web designer make over there? I know it depends on location etc but I'm just after ball park averages.
I also know my folio isnt strong right now but I work for a large multinational company and I can present a decent folio in person.
Still learning Swedish but would need a English speaking job to start, do they exist? My wife is Swedish and I have English passport so a three month contract would be what I would look for.
And links or info would be greatly appreciated.

I just moved over from London to Stockholm this fall, don't speak Swedish, got a web design job pretty quick. Seems to be who you know, so if you have any contacts in Sweden I'd probe as much as possible to find folks who may know someone who knows someone etc. I'm on 23,000+ and I graduated last year.

Moving here in the first place is absurd, even more so working for anything less than 40K/month, and that still doesn't get you very far as far as decent living is concerned.
On 20K/month, you are left with 12-13 after taxes. It's NOTHING in the 3th or 4th (I forget) most expensive capital in the world. I am currently renting out my old 3-bedroom apartment for around that amount per week. Downtown storage units run 2500/month. Eating out at not-swanky-at-all places for lunch every day is ~1000 per week. You don't get a decent dinner out under 700 KR for two. Just congestion taxes driving in and out of the city center is over 400 per week. A beer at a pub is 50. Breakfast at your average corner café is 100.
Now start subtracting all of those things from 12.000 ...

And just to clarify, above example was specific to Stockholm, but it isn't much different out in the bushes. While the living expenses are significantly smaller, the salaries are too.
Should you, against better judgement, decide to come here, I would gladly hook you up with a few headhunters :)
