According to the client, the following photo looks "lifeless". They sell ceramic tile flooring and this photo is pretty much like all the other photos I've done for them. What do u guys think? I think they want more decorations but like a good non-creative client, they can't express their opinion in practical terms.

although its not a horrible photo it does have a lifelessness to it...
- Did they remove the dead old couple just before the picture was taken?********

def. needs some more deco. a lamp, plants, stupid bowl with nic-knack type of stuff...

i'd say it was pretty lifeless.

Ask them to show some samples of photos they like.

I think if you were to take a left perspective worms eye view it would definitely give it the life it needs.

have you tried adding tits.

what about more angular, closer shots of the tile itself? maybe someone's feet in snazzy shoes or something.
- Jeremyhead0
HAHAHAHAHAHA!

or simply just add that worm in there on the table... but make sure it's alive. then they can't say it's lifeless.

Some nice (macro) short depth of field shots of the tiles would be nice. For this photo, I would 'accessorise'...
A couple of cusions, flowers on the table, perhaps a drinking cup or a book. Get a cat to sit on one of the chairs.
It just doesn't looked 'lived-in' at the moment is what I think your client is trying to say
- i was gonna suggest a cat on the chairs also, before the worm idea.menos

Put a lamp and a book on the small table. Add some action to the still. ;)

wow, who died in that photo?

Also, as I think someone may have already mentioned it's too face on, try some crazy angles to make it look more dynamic.

ok, thanks!
The photos have to focus on the floor and show just enough furniture to show the context of the room. I'm always careful not to show a lot of props/furniture otherwise they'll say: "We sell tile not furniture".
Oh well, I'll give this a few variations and see what they say.
Thanks again fellows.- you could try and re work the display to not be overly centered too (agree with all the coments about different perspective and macroshots)scrap_paper

try making the chair pillows a more vibrant color like orange or red

perhaps it looks lifeless because those chairs look freshly sat in. the furniture is hideous by the way.

Yeah, I'd say that the clients right this time, its pretty lifeless, the colours in the picture are too neutral, theres no focal point, no contrast and if thats the composition you're going for they should be centered not slightly cropped off one side.

wicker. gross.

Haha, they specially liked the wicker chairs. Can't mess with the wicker.
