Total props on JD for going HTML CSS... but it's not really as good as his old site.

makes sense i guess, easier to read as a wordpress blog and get right to the point / updates

At first I was like "meh" but then I realized the new format allows him to post tutorials and blog updates and have people comment on them and then I was like "yeah, ok."

I find it hard to read. You have to really search to find the nav. Also think that the twitter, dopplr and newsfeed are too similar. Just plain hard to work out what the text is your are reading.
I know no-one asked for a site crit but just wondered if anyone else finds this the case?

First time I am mentioning "link!" at QBN.
http://www.joshuadavis.com/Definitely do whatever you want, but I think it's interesting that html is being used for newer versions of sites that used to be in flash.

Dont think he is setting the trend here. Maybe he is has been hanging around jeffrey z too much or something.. Hehehe

Rabattski - I'd really like to build a flash site for myself that has a neat CMS etc. like my clients get... but I could see it taking over my life! perhaps in the new year!
- johnny_h0
Yeah, I'm desperate to remain fashionable.
I tried fucking trends but I ended up looking out of date.
- rabattski0
What?!? Your choice is based on what others do? Fuck trends dude.
- johnny_h0
Bummer - I was just about to build an all flash site for myself - looks like that trend has been and gone. Oh well back to front page for me then.
Agree, it is odd. I would have put JD very much in the all flash world or websites. Still he sets trends (does/did he not) rather than follows them.
- Are you saying he's setting "follow the trend" trend?rafalski
- Don't think you should defer from doing a Flash site just because others aren't doing them!
mimeartist - I'm saying he has always been ahead of the game. I rember Barneys website, after which everyone was "doing a Barneys".johnny_h
- Right. Just remind me, what's your portfolio built in again James?rafalski
- It is built in London?mimeartist
- jd is great, but i think it's been awhile since he's been "ahead of the time"instrmntl
- It's build out of London, out, not in.Redmond

Looks great... funny how a lot of Flash people have HTML sites...
Only thing that bugs me is the tight kerning... But thats just me being an asshat.
- jamble0
and wordpress no less.Looks nicer than most wordpress sites but I'm suprised that it wasn't already running on a custom cms of some sort.
- HAMT
praystation is all html and css now?!
Wtf?!!!
