Lately I spent way more time in my office than usual. I was kicked off a nature reserve last year, because I had a professional camera in my hand and therefore was supposed to work commercially without a license in this place. The fun fact is, they don't give out licenses at all, so they can know you don't have one. I did not leave the public ways which are open and can be accessed by anyone.

To cut a long story short. This brought me to the idea of posing one of my models in a natural environment that was painted. And I heard that a famous local museum is offering digital rights to their images which include commercial rights.

So, under CC-BY SA 4.0 I remixed a painting. At first it was just a joke. I scaled the model much too large. But somehow it didn't look off. And now, it has me challenged and I am trying to sell a limited edition of this on my website.

It's possible that this won't work. But I had to do this experiment. The print itself is on Photo Rag Baryta and looks absolutely amazing.

I had to share these BTS sills from a David Fincher movie I worked on last year. The movie is called "Mank", about the screenwriter for Citizen Kane.

This movie was so much fun to work on. All the political posters and signage was created by me along with a number of other things. David's still guy, Miles Crist, is the absolute best. The photos are incredible.

This new model I designed looks simple, but it is quite complicated. Not only for designing, but also for the tinkering kids at home. Hours of crafting fun guaranteed!

The Municipality of Amsterdam is improving the crossings between Noord and the rest of the city with a swing bridge for cyclists and pedestrians over the Noordhollandsch Kanaal.
This model was designed commissioned by the infrastructure builder of the bridge and is handed out as a promotional gift. The size is 14 x 4.5 inch.

Finally, today, I finished my quarantine project. I began with this in May 2020.

I had photographed a cheesy photo last year and had the idea to turn it into a so-called diamond painting, then frame it and photograph it hanging on a wall.

A diamond painting basically is a sticky paper where you glue thousands of small plastic diamonds on. The paper says where to glue which color, so it is all about patience, only.

But it requires a lot of patience. I glued more or less 32,000 pieces to finish this 40x50cm artwork. This took me around 100 hours in total.

Was it worth it? Certainly not. But I remembered the QBN quote 'Never don't give up' and so I finished this off.

I would like to point out that the woman originally had nothing between her legs. Nothing red, I mean. The diamond painting has 33 colors (why 33, I wondered) and either they have no skin tones in their plastic palette or they produced this as 'safe for work' (= censored my uploaded photo). I still finished it and will see if I can tweak the colors when photographing the framed version.

Very satisfied this is finally away from our dining table.
