so I'm putting together an RFP for a large car manufacture. It's my first real major AD'ing project, I've been junior ad'ing alot of stuff and now its my turn to crank something out.
Just wondering if anyone has links to awesome products for packaging...like portfolio covers, boxes, folders, basically anything you can package a campaign in I have some ideas for this but would like some help. things like this would be great I'm sure if i dont use them know I will in the future.
example.

i would look at shapes more defining the bubble look of today vechiles... wood to me doesnt match that style,
perhaps go for something a little off the edge, like shell casing of beetles, i mean the insects, they are and will have the defining shapes, color and design you may need to help solidfy your design...
try to push that envelope of your design inspiration, try to swerve outside of mainstream products, its a car, maybe it can be a spaceship!! think further than you normaly would and use that to make a new conceptual arena for your work.
think armour for you body, its a car, you want to "package" the design...correct? well what do you see in life that has protection from life? turtles, armadillos, beetles...look for that to inspire you, as you may surpise yourself and actually develop something you may never have becasue you are and will be looking at new references, and new ideas will shape themselves thru this process.
maybe then after you do this you can charge that extra fee, since for the client you should be blowing their minds with your work.
who knows in that same processyou may just suprise yourself, and take a few steps forward as your progression in your design skills will advance to levels you may never ever have achieved.
think different!!!
:)
