that "Jihad" 30 second spot is creepy. It looks like an intro for a suicidal tendencies video. he's trying to be reagan.

mormons got too many skeletors in their closets for that mitt to be president.

I grew up in utah, I know how horribly those who legislate with the mormon agenda operate. 90% of the states legislature are mormon, laws passed and votes cast are often lockstep with what the mormon prophet recommends. Just imagine our next president taking his marching orders from gordon hinkley. pretty scary if you ask me. I don't believe a persons religion should preclude them from doing anything, but in the case of the mormons, I grew up with them, I know how intertwined their church is with their political leaders and I find it incredibly scary. there was a reason I left.

like it or not, romneys religion will prevent him from ever winning a general election for president.

(Oct 12 07, 16:32)I'd have to agree. Although there's nothing about Mormonism that's any crazier than any other organized religion out there, it's just more recent and has less converts.

All I know about mormons is what I have read, big love and weird dudes walking around on with ties and backpacks full of literature.

I'm reading "Legacy of Ashes," the new CIA book. It's bending my mind and is creating a whole new way of perceiving all political figures and this constant barrage of political theater.
Off topic, but not really. The whole "strengthen our intelligence service" is a joke and lie beyond comprehension.

Dunno, he was a competent governor here, nothing to write home about, but got shit done.
I somehow feel all this crowing about his mormon roots is akin to people crying about Kennedy being a catholic and handing the country over to the pope, a bit unfounded.
He's primarily a business guy and will say and do whatever it takes to get a job done, which, yeah, it's scary cause you never know which Romney you're dealing with. That and only that, his absence of individual personality, is what makes him scary to me.
But i do think he'd be better in a managerial sense than Giuliani, not that it'll matter much, the Repugnicans are in a pretty damn deep hole.

Do you septics really want a President named 'Mitt'? And do you really want a first lady that refers to her 'daughter in laws' and someone who thinks using paper plates is a good thing?
