    Hi all,

Does anyone have any techniques or resources to increase their productivity?

What do some of you do to balance speed and quality when you have multiple projects with increasingly tight deadlines?

    I'm mainly speaking about design...

Any help would would really be appreciated.

    thanks,

    -Mike

Having a plan of attack from the get-go. Set priorities.

Automate process, steps, etc. than can be automated.

And limit distractions as much as possible.

drugs will decrease your output.... do not drink and design...

stay away from games, especially WoW & Counter Strike.... as a matter of fact, all gaming consoles and TVs should be banned from your work area...

hide your firefox/IE explorer icons, resist the temptation to get online and check NT!!

put some enjoyable music on, take all the clocks off the wall, and get your ass to work!

think about what has to be accomplished and visualize each step, articulating to yourself each step forseeing possible issues or more effcient methods until you know exactly where to start and what will get you to the next step. if i can't force myself to do something i go for a walk, relax and do it in my head...oh yeah and stay the fuck away from NT (and any other time wasting website) unless it's to get in the design sort of mood

in general, if you want to improve something, measure it.

track all time spent on jobs and see what needs to be trimmed.

Thanks for the help so far all.

I think meth might work for about a week but then lack of sleep might catch up to me...

I've definitely limited my NT time lately and really visit this site more for inspiration.

I'm just personally feeling my work is lacking in quality jumping from project to project. Don't really have much time to flesh things out but think that's more of an excuse than reality. Especially seeing the work some of you all consistently produce which is just amazing. It's really making me want to step it up...

Thanks again all for the suggestions. Keep them coming!!!
