rick springfield
tommy tutone
outfield
timbuk 3
the cars80's pop rock is the best i can come up with. less synth, more lightly distorted fender strats.
any other good bands from this era with this sound you can think of?
- blaw0
men at work
men without hats
wham
frankie goes to hollywood.

more 'rock' technically, but the music from these guys in the 80s was definately pop:
bruce springteen
tom petty
- blaw0
huey lewis
pat benatarstyx was pretty much pop then, too.

Back in the 80's we called it "sucks ass". Is that a genre title? It should be.
- Ramanisky20
Greg Kihn Band
- ukit0
Don Henley
Robert Palmer

"sucks ass" is subjective - just like i think "dashboard for cutie" (yes i know) is worse than "ass on a stick".
