to my atheist friends: is it not the most frustrating thing seeing these religious wackos have such conviction of their beliefs?
WHY DOESN'T THE WORLD GET SMART?!
There is no god! YOU ALL MADE EVERYTHING UP, AND ARE CAUSING ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS IN THIS WORLD OVER >>NOTHING
- mtgentry0
I only get angry when they start messing w/ the separation between church and state.
- Antonelli0
it's just that their reasoning in everything is so flawed and so obvious. Not to them though, they can't step back and actually analyze what they're saying or doing (or anything else for that matter). it's all impulse for them. There's no critical thinking involved, it's all based on emotion, sentiment, and superstition to them.
From tonight's Christian show...
Amanpour: Do you believe that being gay is wrong?
Religious Nut: Yes, it's not in God's plan.
Well, if it's not in God's plan, and god "created" gays, then how can it be wrong????!
There's no rationale or basis for anything they say. they've been going along for thousands of years just making shit up, and it boggles my mind how people can be so stupid to fall for it.
When are we all going to realize that it's all a big sham??
I swear, in the year 4000 civilization is going to look back at this time and laugh their asses off at these inane beliefs and the fact that we actually killed each other over these beliefs.

(Aug 24 07, 00:22)See what I did there, I gave you the answer to your question from your own question.
I'm with you man, but it's just the nature of the species. Might as well ask when war or laughter is going to stop. It's not. It's hardwired in to a certain extent. I read most religious text like their comic books and all their followers are totally geeked out fanboys and it makes a lot more sense.

Antonelli: Calling your views sophomoric and unrefined would be an insult to sophomores. What is truly irrational is your belief that life sprang from non-life and produced consciousness and will via blind material processes. Yes, that is truly irrational.
On the other hand, it is perfectly reasonable to assert that matter and energy are the product of a very intelligent, cognizant designing intelligence. After all, the hallmarks of design are replete throughout nature.
Finally, you would do well to get more acquainted with your atheist history. More murder has been committed in the 20th century alone, under that banner of atheistic materialism, than any previous centuries due to religious conflict. Start by studying Stalin's Gulags and the lovely things done under the reign of Mao Tse Tung.
You see, if we are just molecules in motion, then anything goes.

you can never just take a step back and analyze something without your beliefs biasing it, flagellum, that is what he asked you to do and you can not.
Whatever your beliefs on the subject are, Intelligent design does not validate your particular brand of religion. So it is a conscious choice you have made, that gays are bad, abortion is wrong, muslims are wrong, jews are wrong etc.
- mrdobolina0
also it is pretty telling how you interject intelligent design into the conversation when it wasn't even brought up.
- flagellum0
mrdobolina: You missed the point I was challenging in Antonelli's post. He was stating that anything other than atheism is irrational.
As for particular views held by Christian theists specifically, it is no secret that Christians believe that there are certain behaviors which are particularly damaging to the individual. Gays are not "bad". Everyone is "bad". We are a fallen race, separated from it's creator.
- flagellum0
Intelligent design is unavoidable when countering atheist arguments.
- mrdobolina0
save it.

(Aug 24 07, 03:54)see, you're just scared flagallum, but that's oke, life is pretty frightening
- mrdobolina0
intelligent design does not validate christianity. or does it?
- flagellum0
intelligent design examines evidence for intelligent causation in biology and cosmology.
read a book or two, then we'll talk.
- mrdobolina0
but it does not validate the christian god, or does it?
