A bit of a last minute thing for you fellow London based comic nerds, I'm going to the 40th Anniversary event for 2000AD this Saturday (11th) and it's looking increasingly likely the guy I was going to go with is going to have to bail on me (serious family illness he says, or he's decided he can't stand to spend a day in my company). So I have one ticket available (£40 face value) for available for anyone fancies it. If so you'd have to meet me there as it's a print out ticket.
If 2000AD was your gateway then it's a pretty spectacular line up of talent. Just thought I'd put that out there.
- When I say a print out ticket, I meant it's a QR code with two entries on it.Wolfboy
- shit looking after my kid that day....when he's a bit older!mugwart
- how was it?Bluejam
- Really good: the panels were fantastic, really interesting hearing the old stories and the guys I met were really friendly and happy to chat.Wolfboy
- My only disappointment is I didn't get to meet Carlos Ezquerra as he was almost too obliging. His queue was missive as he was doing a sketch for everyone.Wolfboy

Minded of this by PhanLo's post earlier, featuring a bit of halftone: I saw this at the weekend, and just lveod the complete OTT use of halftones...
Made me want to have a bit of a play (it's not really too clear on this jpg how cool it looks, especialyl on smaller organic details).

Recently bought this:
The rise and rise of Judge Death and his mob. Very well written and creates a genuine sense of dread (no pun intended) and uneasiness thanks in part to the painterly art style. I already knew about Deadworld from the Dredd / Anderson stories and the Young Death storyline but this expands it in all kinds of interesting directions and turns into a proper horror story. Highly recommended.

Being a huge, huge, Rogue Trooper fan since forever I thought I would go through and see if there have been any collections I missed, ignored, forgot about. So fuck knows why I missed this one. Telling the story of a Nort State Security officer, it shines a huge light on how the Norts became, well, Norts - their part in the war, their society, military training and, most interesting to me, their genuine fear of the GI's and their ability to fight without suits. Written in a deceptively calm style, it gives a surprising warmth and intelligence to a group of people I only ever saw as The Enemy in Rogue's stories.

The 100 Pages That Shaped Comics
http://www.vulture.com/article/1…Shame that they decided to restrict choices based on comics first published by North American publishing houses ... hence no Moebius, Katsuhiro Otomo ...etc :-/

Duncan Jones to Direct Movie Adaptation of Rogue Trooper Comic Book
http://screenrant.com/rogue-troo…- Neat! Although personally I'd be as happy to see Sláine or ABC Warriors hit the big screen :)detritus
- ABC Warriors would be fucking awesome, especially if inspired by Simon Bisley
http://www.simonbisl…Bluejam - One of the Abc Warriors appeared briefly in the Stallone Dredd movie I think.
