he is him.

yeah or maybe someone like his sister/father combo
it did'nt make much sense that the killer would dive into the ocean and retrieve that dead womans body .....
- morilla0
its not him, thats the obvious direction. Plot 101

(Nov 6 06, 13:57)Yeah, same here, but I just suspended my disbelief because it reveals how truly masterful this new serial killer is (at least according to Dex).
I do like the voice-overs because they prove to be meaningful. They especially help since Dex doesn't talk too much.
His relationship with his sister and his relationship with his girlfriend are both very interesting.

I dunno guys... if someone is sick enough to hack a body up in perfect little sections... drain the blood and then stage the body...
... I don't think a meager 150' dive to retrieve a body would really be a that taxing for such a fellow...
... nahmean?

Great episode. I'm enjoying the characters more and the thought that the trailer dude wasn't the Ice Truck Killer was always in the forefront of my mind, especially since Dexter is never really incorrect with his instincts. Looks like Jeremy is going to be another story going on in this show.
Deb believes in the idea that she already caught the ITK b/c of all the evidence against the trailer guy, and started to believe in herself more when Dex started to not be sure of things. However, now that the trailer guy doesn't seem to know Dex he'll be back to hinting that they haven't caught the ITK yet, which will undoubtedly piss off Deb even more.

Dexter's character is treading a fine line by playing these games with the young killer... When he ran into Doakes I thought he was going to get busted and have to explain himself.
Deb does seem to be growing in confidence, but like you said Jaline, this guy's not the ITK, so she's not going to be happy, and lots of searing will ensue.
There were a couple of scenes where Deb also looked more than a little porno in the stripey shirts and 'TopGun-esque sunglasses'... hmmm, porno, or cliche? I'm not sure if they're trying to be cool with that, or kitch. Given the amount of G-Star clothing I've seen in the show, I'm guessing 'cool'.
Great show.

Agreed, and I also think that Deb knows that Dex's instincts are usually spot-on, and so she'll probably forgive him once they figure out who the real ITK is, most likely in the last episode of the season.
I think Dex should definitely be a little more careful with what he does outside of his job (having somehow to do with his job, like Jeremy, but still outside of what his co-workers know).

first2 episodes

great writing great acting
its got a very graphic novel feel to it

i watched the first 6 episodes (here: http://allfg.servtro.de/cms/cms/…) last week. good stuff.
i agree with ramanisky ("graphic novel feel")... he's like an anti-superhero... after the first few "kills" it doesn't matter what he does. the character progression is interesting as well, as he becomes more "human" over time.

been watching the 2nd season of weeds as well... does anyone know where i can watch the 1st season online?

I think they made up for the lack of sex in previous episodes by having this one packed with heavy breathing, haha. (just making an observation about the amount of sex in television today and how Dexter usually compensates through the use of violence, but it's obviously more intelligent and complicated than just that).
The episode was great because people can still have some faith that Dexter CAN figure out his issues to some extent, but the reveal of the serial killer was a slump because the person was predictable. I'm sure Deb will figure it out before Dexter does.

All of the actors are doing an awesome job with their characters at the moment.
SPOILERS!!!
Actually, I thought about this further and Dexter could find out about the serial killer before Deb. However, there'd be more character development involved with Deb realizing who the Ice Truck Killer is rather than Dexter, but it'd be more interesting to see how Dexter would act around the cops if he figured out it was the doctor before everyone else.
Now I'm thinking about the doctor's relationship with Deb and how planned it probably was...

SPOLIERS
Here's what I'm wondering: If Dexter discovers that the Ice Truck killer is the doctor, does he still turn him into the cops, directly or indirectly? Or does he shield him, so he has someone to finally relate fully to, someone to discuss what he does openly and find a catharsis through this equal?
- Jaline0
good question. I think since he was taught to do the right thing (in the big picture), he will eventually turn him in or allow his sister to find him. I'm sure he'll want to protect his sister, and I'm also sure he would want to find someone to relate to but would eventually get rid of the killer (unless the killer is too smart for him, which is entirely possible).

dexter's a bitch :-) maaa bitch !

watching it right now.
awesome stuff.

Tonights episode sucked. I give it a D+.
SPOILERS BELOW!!!
How much do you want to bet the Ice Truck Killer is actually Dexter's brother? That would make perfect sense...the focus on blood ("It runs in the blood") and the fact that the ITK knew Dexter's dad. Plus they have a /passing/ resemblance...it's the muscley faces.

makes sense. could be why he knows his whole life. has it out for him and also shares a strange addiction to killing.
i missed a few things tonight and was completely lost. I need to rewatch it.
