among my engineer friends, the most sought after gear is loved for the musicality of it's flaws. anyway, i digress. you've got some good points, meeklo.

(Jul 13 06, 16:26)I agree with you..
don't get me wrong, that's why I rather use my old speaker system over high end monitors..:)
- Meeklo0
a 303's not a drum machine.
emphor
(Jul 13 06, 16:17)an MC 303...
yeah it can do more than a regular drum machine, but really the only good thing there is the drum kits..

acescence..
seeing your long list of gear for sale, I have 2 options. You quit making music..
You are moving to software based..
is there a 3rd?
:)
- Tara0
"emotional" connection it exists with the analog sound. not fidelity, not resolution :)

(Jul 13 06, 16:57)definitely not quitting, and while i am more software based than just a year or 2 ago, really i just have an obscene amount of gear. i need to simplify.

Great mixes! I design and dj as well. I love dnb, but like kinetic says, it dates too quickly for me to ever get into spinning it. I got a few house mixes online at http://www.turnerworks.net/dj.ht…

(Jul 14 06, 14:0I can help you write a basic beat if you know how to use any step sequence /drum machine
will that work?
- Meeklo0
Ok so here is a basic one.
You need:
Bass Drum = BD
Snare Drum1 = SN1
Snare Drum2 (Low) =SN2
High Hat (Closed) = HH
High Hat (Open) = OHFollowing the traditional 16 Step sequencer, make your loop to go to 32 steps.
O =empty
X =hitBD:
X0X0000000X00000
X000000000X00000SN1:
0000X0000000X000
0000X0000000X000SN2:
0000000X0X000000
00000000X0X000X0HH:
X0X0X0X0X0X0X0X0
X0X0X0X0X0X0X0XXOH:
00X0000X000000X0
0000X000X00000X0Does that make sense?
That is a very basic beat, experiment, change instruments, add or substract, etc..
