Of course cheap gas is a hell of a lot less important than human life , but I thought this quote from the New Orleans mayor (on the coming hurricane) was interesting.
"The real issue - that I don't think the nation is paying attention to - is that through the city of New Orleans, through the Gulf of Mexico, we probably deal with almost a third of the nation's domestic oil that is produced. And that will most likely be shut down."

Not to be a jerk, but I have news for you dudes, in other places of the world it's even more expensive. Didn't we have this talk about coffee, donuts, McD's, etc. vs. gasoline. Tonight, my Latvian friend told me that it's nearly $8.50 US per and that his dad spent nearly $80 to fill his tank.
