    just curious.

how in the hell do you use most tools (kitchen or otherwise)? i've been thinking about it and you guys are really kind of screwed. you have to use your right hand - for like - ice cream scoops, can openers - b/c the tools are designed that way. right?

    i mean, left? ;)

pfft. I am a lefty and find most stuff easy, I can't think of anything that I can't do with my left hand, use a mouse, scissors. Actually Salisae I can't use a hammer in my left hand it is not mad ecorrectly and also a screw driver that shit is so ergonomicaly wrong.

    question.

tell me about can openers though - do you just go ahead and use your right hand to turn the knob? just develop that know-how?

    thanks for the input, chossy

i have been assimilated by scissors and can openers, i don't think i could use them with my left hand now. i still write, shoot a gun or pool, and play ping pong lefthanded, but i do everything else righthanded. i'm probably pretty weird as far as handedness goes.

seems like left handers are ambidextrous. hmmmm.

my dad tells stories about my grandmother had a "split brain" and was able to write two different things at the same time with both hands. CRAZY!!

we develop the ability to function in a world that is designed for Rh people. maybe that's why there's many ambiguous stuff in our lives :/

but i never think of it though.

I am left-handed and find most things easy. Bonseffs comment about notetaking is dead on, i didn't even realize that isn't possible for you die hard righties. I broke my left arm back in 5th grade and had a full cast on it for about three months, so I was forced to learn how to write right-handed. I still can today. I am extremely weak at throwing with my right arm though, although I would say it feels stronger.

i dont see the big mystery of left handedness....to me its normal... i can do most things with both hands/feet (eat, open cans, kick a ball) I also broke my left arm in grade 2 so I had to learn how to write with my right. but its true we are more creative because we are using both sides of out brain.
I did find taking notes at uni a hassle tho

the reason i was so perplexed is b/c i was attempting to use an ice cream scoop with my left hand - it's impossible.

then it dawned on me that ya'll just go ahead and use your right hand.

someone told me that it helps develop creativity to rely on both hands b/c it strengthens both sides of the brain. that i should make a practice of using my left to open doors, etc.

I am very much a leftie. The only thing I do with my left hand is use a mouse. I have a mouse on my right side and a wacom on my left. I trade off depending upon what I'm doing.

The only problem I have had is with scissors...and of course in school, those stupid right hand desks sucked.

being a lefty kinda sucks at times... especially scissors.

there was a guy I once met who was rallying for lefthanders to be considered disabled. As in getting a hang tag for the front window of your car. He wanted me to sign a petition. So I was curious, thinking he was kidding. I started asking questions. This dude had all this literature about how we (lefties) are discriminated against in society. He was really serious and became pissed when I laughed.

I didn't sign the petition cuz I thought it was silly....
