  I know theres been a few posted up recently but what the hey,

  this is a possible style for my folio, and constructive critisism would be much appreciated.

  well are the links are working ? I like the background illustratio and the colors overall.. it gives a nice feeling. why did you bother flash navigation anyway, maybe you have something in mind. I didn't like the plays on the navigation maybe more deep thinking give you better results.

  it is good...

  clean and simple.

  only quam is the menu font.. very fuzzy... yes i know its flash doing that.. but you can make it better

  yeah im thinking of killing the plays and putting in something more intellegent, like y.move instead that makes the arrow move to the selection dynamically.

  *disclaimer: just my experience not trying to start a sh*t fight between schools*

  In perth there is one called "the west australian school of art deign and media (WASADM or TAFE PERTH" I have found this to be the most hands on school and the course is very good 3years with and optional 4th.

  In Melbourne there is a wicked art design and multimedia course at "royale melbourne institute of technology (RMIT)"

  Universities do courses also but out of the ten or so people i know doing them, they seem to be too much theory and lectures and not enough hands on designing, painting coding.

  being honest here...

  - what's the relevance of the illustration? apart from being a 'nice'picture what's it for/mean?
  - check the intro copy. It could be written better. And the layout should be better.

  Ok it's nice, butt the positioning of the main stage doesn't look pro. I should center it. Give the frames a litle more contrast with the background.
  Make it possible to enlarge the pictures because it's most irritating you just can see a preview and nothing more.

  Hear me talking, i deffenetly need to redesign my own site.

  I really like the colours you've used and the Illos cool as a nice backdrop.

  the intro type could have tighter leading because it looks baggy.

  also the mix of rounded and cornered boxes conflicts, but these are minor points because it's not finished yet.

  i like it

  (said like chevy chase)

  although i wouldn't say "i've been designing since 2001". why even say? you could have been designing without knowing you were. choosing colors to paint your room, putting together outfits, etc.. you were born a designer.
