Whos got one, what kind, and suggestions.
Im using a new 15in albook and I want to use my fw800 port.
Im thinking this http://www.wiebetech.com/product… or the 200gb lacie they sell at the apple store.

I'm using a few of the LaCie d2 drives.. really good.
The Wiebetech dock is only a dock sort of thing for attaching a bare drive, probably doesnt have all the features of the d2 such as proper fans and sleep/spin-down?
The d2 goes to sleep (totally silent) after a few minutes non-use, so it's convenient to always leave attached.

I was wondering why they didn't tell you what the drive capacity was.

thats a good point I didn't think about those features. Im kinda attracted to the fact that I can swap drives. Can you crack open those d2's and insert another drive?
Im getting the fw800 200gb drive today. Maybe unless you guys got a better suggestion.

Yeah cybrainx,
The wiebietech thing doesn't come with a drive but what really freaks me out is that they don't post the transfer rates.

i have the lacie 80 and 160, the 160 is kinda loud but the 80 you can't even tell it's running, strange. good drives though.
