Im 5'11" 155lbs
I ride park but Im planning going out west a couple time this year.I currently have an old 151cm santacruz this is the same board http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI… I have baseless bindings too.
Am I going to kill myself riding this board w/ baseless bindings when I go to Utah? I went to the ski shop and noticed they don't make baseless bindings anymore.

That board is way too short for your height.
(are you one of those guys that goes "i like a short board"?)

hey man... i would get yourself a 153/155 and your golden.153 you can still ride park, 153/155 is cool for freeride too. 155 would be ideal for freeride... and please get yourself some new bindings man. i am sure you keep your computer upgraded and on point, keep your style the same!
ride has some dope new boards this year.

I do like short boards but the reason I have a 151 is because I was a couple inches shorter 5 years ago!

go to some ski shops, most of them have packages with bindings from last year. can get some good stuff...
last year I got me a Ride Nation 161"...Ride SPI bindings... no complainst over here...best board I ever had. I mostly freeride Vermont and Colorado

Oh no I go in Wisconsin. (don't laugh) There isn't much there but parks. When I go west I usually just have fun usually not in the park.

Burton Canyon or Supermodel are good freeriding boards, look for used or nasa decks out there. The Ride Yukon & Timeless are nice decks too.

what kind of boots do you have?
i used to have burton everything last season and had to switch over to forum b/c i have long skinny feet and my foot would move around too much width wise in burton boots ... burton bindings are also wide.. so i got my feet falling asleep a lot...
it sucked a lot for me cos i ride hard all day and by the end my feet were black and blue...
i dont ride the park much. i find my fun elsewhere.. so i wonder what would be best for you... prolly go to a shop and ask some bros who ride for pretty much a living. theyll be able to break it down for you im sure.

front forget ride, drake and k2.. all vendors that sell at most board shops. try everything on for size.
when buying (at zjboardinghouse.com) i went there and put multiple combinations togehter and saw what felt right. the second time around i brought my board in and tried 3 different bindings and boots to see what was rockin best.

Also try going to demo days at some of the larger resorts.

Shelie I have some grey airwalks with a tiny carrot logo on the back. I like them.
This is turning out to get a little expensive. Sux hopefully I'll have enough money left over to go snowboarding!

i try to stick to one brand because the peices are made to work together best..
you can mix and match if you know what your doing.. but the best thing is to get a board booots and bindings that really fit you well. everything else doesnt really matter.. but a crap board.. or anything that goes on your feet. blindings ARE imporant and it would do you better to get a really good pair that suit your needs best... maybe not too stiff.. maybe aluminum instead of plastic.. etc... theyre comming up with different materials that do better in extreme weather. do you like to ride powder much? that will make a difference in your board and blndings.. etc etc yadda yadda.. and your boots shouldnt be too wide or too skinny for your blindings.. you'd be surprised how much a centemeter or even a half of a centermeter of give can fuck you up.
that is all. have fun.

1. you're gonna kill yourself on that board.
2. the burton dominant is strictly a park/jib board.
3. there are a ton of other brands just as good or better than burton...expand your scope man.

dude...those airwalks are like almost 7-8 years old now!...man they gotta be pretty packed out by now.
