i had a dream i was showing off my pizza printer. i was watching it just finishing off printing a real nice looking pizza but then it pulled it back in and started printing another one on the back. i looked round and all my pizzas were double sided... I was panicking but someone was laughing and then a woman said "that's what makes them so good", and I woke up thinking "have my pizzas always been double sided?"

So, I've got an interview with one of the agency big networks this afternoon. It's a strange little arrangement: it's for a Big Tobacco account, and I'd be working with the creative and account teams on-site at the client's every day, just a bit outside the city. So I'd be totally removed from the rest of the agency and the other accounts.
Dream job? Fuck no, not by any means. But I will still try my best to get this job, because I hope to use it as a way into the rest of the agency network (which also has offices in Berlin and Hamburg, as well as in Munich), so that I can transform it into a dream job after my probation period would be done in six months. The goal would be to leave the Big Tobacco account, and work for other accounts, doing the work I love to do.

Got an email in work this morning suggesting that the new Masters course I'm developing for September may be delayed for a year because of limits imposed by the management of the university. Seems to be out of my hands, I really hope it is... I've downed tools temporarily and sent two very convincing emails to try and change their minds (made sure to copy my dept directors). So i've done my bit now I'm waiting to hear back wether I essentially just went from 4 months of hard work ahead to 4 months of fucking about with the gear I just ordered yesterday to do it with.

I've basically quit the industry because recently the job offers are paying 1/8th the amount I got when I got out of school, which was then just a livable wage.
Effects artist can NOT produce or care to produce good work when asked to do 20 shots a day, just for the honour of working on yet another stupid super hero movie and are basically working for below minimum wage!
Respect and a fair wage is the only way to fix this.
