I was riding in the bike lane, and this car was in the bike lane. I go around, and he speeds up not letting me get into the bike lane. Well, I just cut him off. We meet at the red light, I argue with him waiting for him. Before he drives off, I smacked the passenger mirrors which almost dangled off. I still waited for him, but he drove off.

do news sites load information based on location?

Every time i go to the bbc.co.uk i can see divs with different headlines for a second before they switch out with something else. A source search doesn't reveal the headline anywhere on the page, nor viewing the page. Is it location curation or some sort of html web thing I'm missing?

This morning I got on a very busy train, so decided to go and sit in first class. Sitting opposite me was a casually dressed, middle aged black guy. I thought nothing of it but could feel him looking at me, so I looked up at him briefly.

Then I took my jacket off, folded it up and put it on the seat next to me. While I was doing that I could feel him looking at me again. So I glanced up again at him.

At that point he said something, but I couldn't make it out so I asked him to say it again. He said.... "Don't worry, I'm not going to rob you." If he'd have had a smile on his face I'd have laughed with him, but he was deadly serious. I asked him what on earth he was on about and he said "You were looking up at me while putting your jacket down, as if I was going to rob it - it's 2016, relax".

Hahaha, fuck me. Talk about a chip on his shoulder, the poor guy. I told him that I was absolutely not thinking anything of the sort, and it is indeed 2016, and "Dude - that was a ridiculous thing to say".

    Funny.

    Bit sad.

    Bizarre.

    • I can be rather hostile, and have a rather angry face, so ultimately my hostility brought out his own paranoia about being black, I guess. Interesting exchange.set
    • I almost told him to take it, I have plenty more at home at my cottage in the Cotswolds, and it was probably a bit warm for golf today anyway.set

This morning I got my usual first class train to work. In comes a poorly dressed narrow foreheaded white guy. I thought nothing of it but could feel him looking at me, so I looked up at him briefly.

He took his jacket off and put it on the seat. I could feel him looking at me again. So I glanced up again at him. I said....

"Don't worry, I'm not going to rob you" in a joking way.
He looked at me with a very hostile, angry face and said
    "WHAT YOU SAY MATE?"
"It's 2016, relax my good friend" I said.

Flu shots at our office today. I've never gotten them before. I talked to the nurse about my preconceived notions regarding the flu shot.

    1. getting the shot makes you sick

    2. only kids and old people need them

He basically said it's a dead virus they are shooting you with and you will NOT get the flu from it. You may experience sore muscle where the shot goes and a bit of a sore throat. He said when you come in contact with the flu virus it takes up to 10 days to develop symptoms and that the shot takes about 14 days to work. So people could already have the virus and then get sick in that buffer period.

About the age, he said yes they try to get young and old people first because they are most vulnerable due to weaker immune systems. He said if you travel frequently even around neighboring cities and if you have kids you are at higher risk.

The thing is I don't want to get the fucking flu. I think I'm doing it.

    • I took the shoot one time, i was part of the "on risk population", i am allergic and asthmatic, and after this i took the worst flu of my life... never againOBBTKN

    • not true, i know someone died from one. I haven't gotten sick with the advice of taking care of oneself with balance of eating, sleeping, shagging. no stressyurimon

    • I got the shot. Still alive.HijoDMaite
    • I know what you're saying yuri, but that logic isn't sound. I haven't contracted aids either, but that doesn't mean i attribute it to eating healthymonospaced
    • you get the point ... I also don't get flu shots and haven't had the flu since the one time I had it over 30 years agomonospaced
    • would you say that's because I treat my body like a temple?monospaced
    • i dont know do you?yurimon
    • nomonospaced
    • maybe veins so filled with hate, it has anti viral property. hehe.yurimon

Adventures in Arnold Render continue - it be the fucking shit, yo!
Render quality and fidelity almost instantly kicks Vray's flabby arse. Making materials is a fucking trip but totally makes sense once you understand the methodology:

Now I have Object and Material ID's sussed, which is a huge part of our workflow. Next up, alphas and render/composite visibility.

    • we're using arnold as-well with custom stuff all the way. Rad but expensive regarding rendertime vs noise.ApeRobot
    • I noticed that, but as we only do single images we can afford to take a hit on time - especially when the IPR window is so helpful in quickly testing materials.face_melter
    • Still liking it though. My only gripe so far is the lack of camera correction - Vray has the ability to offset vert/horiz. distortion during render.face_melter
