Co-worker friend is sober and former drug addict. She's clean now and very positive and open, but I feel bad that I feel like I look down on her for it. Could it happen to anyone or is it a character flaw on her part?

Went to the live taping of SNL last night w/ Larry David. I don't know if it was because of the excitement of being in the audience of studio 8H and watching everything from a different perspective, plus it being a one-in-a-lifetime (probably) opportunity, but thought it was a pretty fantastic episode.

So I'm working a tucson arizona ...jewelry gem show. Networking admin, wiring, photography, film, social media & general labor among other things for a pretty penny. ( they flew me out here from Los angels). Things get boring doing the same shit for 17 days @ 12 hour days. I met a girl, at first she was the snack girl, a local temp from tucson arizona who just got a piece of land and moved here from phoenix arizona, her name was for qbn purposes...Jane.
Jane has the prettiest smile, the most down to earth personality that seems common with arizona locals compared to the whores in los angels where i live. Big eyes which i could look into for hours, I had my doubts on her interest so i took my time using small talk while getting snacks and coffee. she is 39, me being 30.... She got to the point of flirting, "You are so cute, you are so nice, you this that this"...while never being able to take my money because i was staff. I took a day off from talking to her to see if something was really going on when i found her looking for me and asking if i needed anything. i got her number and added her to facebook. Janes FB really empty because shes not an "online" type of person. I made custom event tickets for an after party (for the jewlery show) which really boiled down to a "mid event party" which i gave her tickets to, she had to work the "after party".
The event was 5 hours long, featured some shitty urban spanish bands and some POI or fire performers which were pretty half ass and periodically burned themselves. I took a moment to pay for a beer which i normally get free just to talk to her and get her number, she gave it to me. The flirting continued, flirting turned into morning text messages of "good morning!" etc etc. I finally got the balls to ask her out and she said she was busy followed by a text of "you know im not single right?".
Dunno what to really say about this post but man, i spent 2 days trying to ignore what she said, with her continuing to flirt with me it was easy. I've asked her to some places ive never been like casinos, dinner etc in arizona, with no response but she continues to flirt and look for me while working because she knows where the IT room is.
ive had bad terribly bad luck with women but this one has the personality i am looking for. I got 2 days left in this fucking dump full of cactus and barren land with nothing. I flirt, i push my luck with not much response and sometimes want to grab her from behind and tickle her. 2 days left.....
I dont want to her think im a creeper, ive tried to let her know i really enjoy her company and have tried to express it..., ive tried to make sure that "i should of, would of" situation doesnt come up when i leave.....ive tried everything in reason while she continuous to flirt with me...at times making excuses like "i had to do laundry and my man me dinner" while she tells me "you made my day better" and " you are so kind and gorgeous" "you made my day better by just seeing you"... shes got no ring, ive looked..

Client promised a retainer gig. Contracts sent over and I reviewed and signed. Client goes silent for a few weeks and I begin to worry; fuck, I just turned down other work (admittingly work I didn't want) because it was a sure deal. Right? I get a text 2 weeks after the silence and he says "Hey, sorry! I'm going to take a look at everything and get back to you". Whew—I thought. Another 2 weeks go by and, yep, silence. I'm writing this off as a loss and now hustling to find work. Moral of the story: It's never a done deal until it's a done.

Had a large tree in my back yard fall during last weeks storm on to a neighbors property. luckily no one was hurt and the damage was not as bad either. What I wasn't expecting was this insane bill from the landscape company to remove the tree. I'm so grateful they exist to do this kind of work, but I'm fukin bummed, hoping insurance can cover it, if not there goes a huge chunk of my savings, my burning man ticket and my new computer. :( I suppose I'm glad I saved that money. Damn you nature, after all we've been through? lesson learned.

I can't believe I'm taking the time to explain to someone who's band barely plays shows, and hasn't ever done so much as a regional United States tour, how utterly crazy it is to think they can go and do a UK tour in MAY. OF THIS YEAR. No fanbase, no label, no booking agent, no manager, no experience touring the US, no demand for them of any kind, and they want to go do a tour of the UK.
