So the funeral was a couple a days ago now. Everything went well.
I decided to cut out a shirt pocket from one we had bought together. Printed out a old photo, wrote a personal message on the back and put it in the shirt pocket. It was then placed on the chest of of my other half in the coffin. That way at least a small part of us would always be together, and the only way I could keep my promise of always being there.
So now they are resting under the shade of a cherry tree.
Don't think I'll write more about it here on the site. The only advice I can give is perhaps to record your loved ones voice. Read out a poem, a part of a book, today's shopping list, anything is better than listening to just a voicemail line.

Hey mono, I just want to say I will try to take it less seriously in the future when you comment my posts. I know you're not the only one mocking me in here, I just had the impression your tone was more serious than some who, i feel, are just kidding with me.
Sometimes I also struggle to explain me correctly in english and I know I write stuff that can be misunderstood.
I'am here to have fun and I really love this community who is part of my life since 20+ years... its like, half of my life! It means something to me.

Had endoscopic sinus surgery a week ago. Septoplasty, turbinate reduction, and balloon sinuplasty on frontal and maxillary sinuses. Surgery was 90 minutes, no problems, and after a pretty annoying week recovering I'm slowly feeling back to normal. I could only handle taking Tramadol for a pain killer for a few days, it absolutely wiped me out along with an antibiotic. Since Friday I've had a constant headache across my forehead, eye sockets hurt, etc. but the worst pain has been walking outdoors in 30 degree weather. That has been brutal on the incision in my nose, and on my now expanded sinus pathways. Basically like snorting razor blades and dry ice. Feeling a lot better today, getting my energy back, taste is coming back, and I've used my Neti pot and sinus rinse very regularly, so most of the congestion is gone.
The irony of surgery like this (to end chronic sinus issues) is that the recovery includes the worst aspects of the worst sinus cold you can imagine. Anyone else been through similar?
P.S. If this post gets 25+ upvotes, I'll contribute photos of the behemoth bloodsnot monster I evacuated from my nose yesterday at work, to the NSFL thread. :D

- I had surgery to repair a deviated septum for chronic sinusitis when I was 16. That week after sucked, even in balmy San Diego weather. I had plastic splints..nocomply
- in my nose and I was draining/hacking up bloody mucus. After that things were glories for a few months, then kinda back to normal.nocomply
- I don't get sinus infections like I used to, but I need to do the neti pot thing daily and I still can't breathe through my nose worth shit.nocomply

Tomorrow is my big day. For the first time, I have a press event. I am promoting my new coffee table book and rented a party space, all drinks are on me, I even have a catering.
A television station and nation-wide newspaper are coming. Also, I made sure to have a balanced male-to-female relation of guests. Invited quite a few girls. Some of the models from my book are also flying in (from Rome, Paris, etc.).
It is a total premiere for everyone out there. I am the only one who has seen the book, they haven't seen any of the photos yet.
I am so super excited. Yesterday I was giving a 40 minutes interview in a talkshow on a youtube channel. Sounds weird for me, but this has much more impact than tv these days.

I'd just like say Merry Christmas. There's generally not a day goes by in which I haven't got my head in a thread on QBN. I sometimes talk to friends about QBN and they're like "what? it's a fucking website you geeky cunt, get out and experience the world". But actually, I do that too.
I feel like QBN brings talking points and understanding of global issues, it allows me to engage in other designery things which I don't really get in my small role, it also brings a connection which I actually feel so many people which they had - or maybe that's a bit too sentimental!
Next year I wanna step up and do some serious design work. I'm being pushed more into management, but I don't want to lose the creative side of things. I wanna do more music and more writing too. But for now, thanks for existing and thanks for everyone's input into this site. And maybe in another 10 years i'll write another mildly intoxicated post like this again. Until then, off ya fuck you wonderful bastards and thanks for being there for each other - not just for me.
