  for starters, don't incorporate video game characters into your design...

  just take the writers block approach and keep doing stuff until you come up with something you like.... or just step away from the computer for a while

  manga crap just looks so "teeeeeen". Come up with your own style and you'll be more proud of it.

  You're not happy with it because you're trying to create something that looks like all the 'cool manga stuff you like'.

  Scan your birthmarks, take some photos of your buttcrack, spit in a window and trace the shape it makes... whatever it takes to make it "personal".
