I am doing a logo for a client but he is insisting that the "TM" (trade marked) Should be in a circle like the "R" .
Also how big should these be is there a website that explains all this. I want to prove to these idiots that there isn't supposed to be a cirlce around TM.

Alt + 0153 = ™

beyond typographic convention, i don't believe there are any regulations regarding the design of the trademark symbol. though i can only recall a few instances where it is within a circle, and those were all on cereal boxes.

fuck that. dont prove him wrong, mix in a tm in a circle and tell him him "its all you"
hopefully he'll get the joke - but in the mean time get paid on his request. makes for a great story!

yeah sometimes you have to bite the bullet, do it, get paid, and leave with something to laugh about over drinks with your colleagues :)

*sigh
Ok it wasn't the satisfaction of proving him wrong. It was the satisfaction of getting some sleep and avoid having to open all the other work (photoshop, Illus and inDesign) I did for him just to put a circle around ithat damn tm.Thanks
